Dear Participant:
You are invited to take part in a Research project called Rise, Shine, Sing! Participation in this activity includes participating in weekly virtual sessions of Rise, Shine Sing! that will take place from September 2021 to April 2022 over Zoom.

During these sessions we will record the meeting. You have the option to participate without video. We will use these recordings to analyze our data for research purposes and to share grid-view images of the screen shots in the dissemination of the research in conference presentations, journal articles or on our research website.  Your name will never be associated with your image.

You can stop participating at any time without penalty. Please note that because of the group nature of the video elicitation, you cannot withdraw this component. Observation sessions will not identify you by name so that information cannot be withdrawn. A separate consent form will also be sent to invite you to participate in other aspects of our research such as completing a questionnaire and/or participating in an interview.

Your confidentiality will be protected to the extent permitted by applicable laws. The study data will be stored on an encrypted hard drive on Queen’s University servers. We will keep your data securely for ten years per Queen’s University Policy, after which the de-identified data will be destroyed securely. The Queen’s University General Research Ethics Board (GREB) may see your study data for quality assurance purposes.
